Since October, concern over the designation in Virginia has grown. On Nov. 5, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and U.S. Reps. Frank Wolf, R-Vienna, and Tom Davis, R-Fairfax County, filed an “application for rehearing” with the DOE, asking that Virginia be removed from the mid-Atlantic corridor.
The department will now review requests for a rehearing, as well as the basis for the requests, Ruggiero said.
