From htrnews.com:
Things haven’t improved much since fed-up voters handed Democrats control of state government two years ago. People are still out of work. The state is still broke.
But now, Republicans are the ones hoping people are mad enough to toss incumbents out in the Nov. 2 elections and hand their party control of the state Senate and Assembly.
“This year is a complete mirror image of what we saw in ’08,” University of Wisconsin-Madison political scientist Charles Franklin said. “This year the shoe is obviously completely on the other foot.”
Legislative races often draw little attention, but they’re crucial to the state’s future. Split-party control of the House, Senate and governor’s office could result in gridlock and bog down efforts to deal with a $2.7 billion hole looming in the next state budget.
