Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will issue a ruling this week on what happened during the controversial last days of the 80th Legislature between members of the House and the speaker.
Speaker of the House Tom Craddick, R-Midland, refused to recognize representatives calling for him to be removed from his position at the end of the session. Craddick said he had “absolute advantage” and could keep his seat as speaker. Critics said the speaker is allowed to govern the order in which members are to be recognized, but not whether they will be recognized.
