Wisconsin AG Primary – Tuesday September
12th

In a move that could have significant post primary day implications,
the Democratic Attorneys General Association, D.A.G.A., dropped nearly $100,000
on Democrat incumbent A.G. Peg Lautenschlager.  According to the Madison
Capital Times
:

One ad
praises Lautenschlager for taking on the nation's oil companies in
price-gouging cases; the other praises her for leading the nation in
prosecuting Internet child-sex predators.
Falk blasted the group as an “out-of-state special
interest group” in the words of spokesman Adam Collins…
Collins
charged that the group is skirting state campaign finance laws by getting
involved after the deadline for filing reports that would disclose the sources
of the group's money. Those reports will be filed after the primary.

Lautenschlager is expected to win tomorrow’s primary against
Falk, but if she doesn’t…these may wind up being the contributions
that keep on giving.

Republicans Paul Bucher
and J.B. Van Hollen are in a fight
to the finish for the Republican nomination.

Our
thoughts
on what’s going to happen really haven’t changed –
Wednesday will be a big day.

New York AG Primary – Tuesday September
12th

 From the New
York Post
:

ALBANY
– The hotly contested Democratic primary for attorney general may not be much
of a contest after all, as two new polls yesterday showed Andrew Cuomo crushing
Mark Green by at least 20 percentage points…The attorney general's race
has been the most bitterly contested of the primary battles, and Cuomo, the
former federal housing secretary, led former Public Advocate Green 52-30
percent in the Marist/WNBC poll and 47-27 percent in the Siena survey…Cuomo
led Green in all regions of the state, but the race was closest in New York
City, where the son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo led 41-32 percent, according to
Siena…
Green's only
hope for victory, said a Siena poll spokesman, is a huge turnout by his New
York City supporters.

Starting Wednesday the
voters can focus on this race and you’ll start to see poll numbers
tighten significantly between Republican nominee Jeanine Pirro and her Democrat counterpart.

GOP L.G. to Run for the Top Job?

News out
of Frankfort, KY

Citing
continuing concern among Republicans about the political strength of the
governor, Lt. Gov. Steve Pence said he's now “very seriously
considering” challenging his boss and former running mate, Ernie Fletcher,
next year.

“I
think people in the party are looking for an alternative if the governor
continues to run” for re-election, Pence said in an interview with the
Herald-Leader. “That's why I'm going to give serious consideration to
being that alternative.”
