House Republican Leader Christopher Rants (R-Sioux City) unveiled the House Republican Caucus’ health care plans for the upcoming legislative session to convene on January 14, 2008.
“Iowa’s middle class families, seniors, and businesses are all feeling the pinch of receiving affordable health care,” said Rants. “Republicans are committed to taking a multiple-step plan to offer some relief to Iowans.”
The House Republican plan encompasses three main goals: to reform health insurance in Iowa, improve health and wellness of Iowans, and to reduce the cost of healthcare for Iowans. The top priority of House Republicans will be to ensure portability of health care coverage when Iowans change policies under the same company.
