Republican’s holding this open state senate seat will be key to taking over full control of the Oklahoma State Senate for the first time in modern history.
Cheyenne Republican Frank Lucas is the U. S. Representative for District 3, which covers all of western Oklahoma. He has been elected easily the past several terms.The State Senate seat held by Woodward Republican Owen Laughlin will be open. Laughlin, first elected in 1996, is term-limited and 2008 is his last year.
