State Attorney General Jim Hood asked a judge Wednesday to stop the Nov. 4 special election Gov. Haley Barbour set to fill retired U.S. Sen. Trent Lott’s seat.Wanting the election to be held sooner, Hood filed papers with a Hinds County Circuit Court Wednesday asking for an injunction and hopes he will be granted a hearing next week.
