It feels like an annual rite. The state legislature goes into session (as it will next week) and the business community begins fretting about their tax credit programs.
This year is a little different. There’s still an iron wall of top Republicans, including Gov. Matt Blunt, Speaker Rod Jetton and Speaker-elect Ron Richard, who believe in and support most of these business-friendly tax credits, including the historic preservation tax credit program. And there’s still unabated appetite among many legislators to add to the bevy of tax credit programs available.
