Republican Brandon Smith defeated Democrat Scott Alexander in tonight’s Kentucky State Senate Special Election. Talk about a Super Tuesday! A troubling defeat for Kentucky’s newly minted Democrat Governor. This is a huge pick up for the Republican State Senate. Any aspirations Bluegrass Democrats had of making any headway towards a Democrat majority are now way off track.
This race is a perfect example of the difference the Republican State Leadership Committee can and does make in state and local elections.
