Attorney General gives seniors tips to avoid identity theft
ATHENS – When asked if anyone had ever been the victim of identity theft, none of the 200 seniors at a conference to prevent being a victim of scams or fraud raised his or her hand.
But Alabama Attorney General Troy King told the audience at the Athens Senior Center last week that the trusting nature of Alabama residents could lead to them being a victim of a scam or fraud.
