IN: State Bill On Illegal Immigration Best for All Hoosiers

Guess there’s not very much of a chance that the immigration issue won’t be a front burner issue in November.  FortWayne.com Editorial:

Indiana may be located far from our international borders, yet our state has suddenly been thrust into the middle of immigration reform. A lack of federal enforcement, Washington politics and Congress’ inability to enact meaningful legislation have forced this problem upon us.

But now Hoosiers have an opportunity to become national leaders on this issue because of legislation being debated in the current session of the Indiana General Assembly.

Indiana’s Senate Bill 335 is modeled after laws in Arizona, Georgia, Arkansas and Oklahoma and would punish those who harbor, transport or employ illegal immigrants. Statistics show that – in spite of our location – illegal immigration is impacting Indiana in significant ways.
