So the labor unions think that government can create better jobs than the folks who invented jobs – businesses? Why is that the standard argument against tax cuts is: “They’ll pocket all of the money for themselves”? How much further along would America be on the issues debate if the opposition stopped veering towards class warfare every chance they have a microphone thrust in their face?
The West Virginia AFL-CIO was scheduled to hold a press conference today at the Capitol to express concern about $200 million in business tax breaks pending in the Legislature.Kenny Perdue, president of the labor organization, said in a prepared statement, “We all want lower taxes, but there must be balance in the effort and we see nothing to assist working families with their tax burden.
“We all rely on vital government services and infrastructure,” Perdue said. “We fear these cuts will prevent investment in our state needed to grow our economy.”
