The end of the 60-day legislative session marked an unsuccessful one for Republicans urging deeper, immediate tax cuts.
Lawmakers passed a combined bill that gradually eliminates the business franchise tax by 2015 and reduces both the corporate net income and inventory tax by that year.
But Republicans, in both chambers, have said these cuts don’t go far enough.
Led by House Minority Leader Tim Armstead, R-Kanawha, Republicans in the House unsuccessfully tried amending the tax bill several times to speed up some of the cuts.
