But Abbe Gluck, senior counsel to New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram, said “Everyone acknowledges that the states have the right for certain reasonable regulation of firearms in the name of public safety.”
“No one is saying citizens of the United States have a complete, unfettered right to have their choice of weapons at any time,” Gluck said.
New Jersey has a number of gun control laws, including a ban on semi-automatic assault weapons, child-access prevention measures, a waiting period on gun sales, licensing requirements and limitations on large-capacity ammunition magazines.
