All $27,250 of it. Question is, Will huge Jim Hood supporters Democratic Attorneys General Association return the $300,000 it got from Scruggs? Jim Hood certainly isn’t taking this opportunity to rise above the fray and call for all players in this sad story be above reproach. No, he’s still playing political defense – showing a true tin ear to the popular sentiment that is emerging in Mississippi on this issue.
There’s more turmoil in the wake of Attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs pleading guilty to conspiring to bribe a judge last week. The well-financed attorney has made several large donations to organizations and political groups around the state. One political group is distancing themselves from the corruption investigation, by giving that money away.
Richard “Dickie” Scruggs made three sizable contributions to the Mississippi Republican Party between 2002 and 2004.
