From the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, the Houston Chronicle, the Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press:
OXFORD – Zach Scruggs, the sole co-defendant left in a judicial bribery case, has hired former Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore to represent him.
The 33-year-old Scruggs also is represented by two Missouri defense attorneys. His trial is set for March 31.
What Moore’s hiring means on today’s deadline for plea agreements wasn’t immediately clear.
