JACKSON — The state House passed a bill Wednesday that would extend wiretapping powers to the Attorney General’s Office.House Democrats said Mississippi is the only state where the attorney general doesn’t have that power. Attorney General Jim Hood said he was pleased with the bill.
“This important tool is a vital investigatory method that, in the end, will better protect the citizens of Mississippi,” Hood said Wednesday. “I applaud the House members who voted for this bill.”
