House Speaker Jim Tucker of Algiers says he will push for public meetings of conference committees toward the end of the session when the House and Senate seek to compromise their differences on the terms of a bill.Tucker said public meetings will be held to resolve differences in the major money bills and other key issues, such as ethics.
He says bills that have to go to a conference committee for minor changes may not be heard in open meetings.
