In a fiery speech in Oklahoma City on Friday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared his firm support for Oklahoma’s lawsuit against large-scale poultry producers.
Kennedy — an environmental lawyer — said corporate poultry companies being sued by state Attorney General Drew Edmondson are polluting U.S. waterways and are “making themselves billionaires by poisoning the rest of us.”
Democracy and the people of Oklahoma suffer, he said.
He expressed worry that the factory-style poultry industry soon will shove small farmers out of the business.
“I don’t want my kids to grow up in a world where there are no family farms in Oklahoma,” he said.
