From Express-News:
A judge at the center of the largest custody battle in Texas history has approved a request to bring in the Texas attorney general’s office to prosecute any future criminal charges that may be filed in the case.
State District Judge Barbara Walther on Monday approved a request by Tom Green County District Attorney Stephen Lupton for a special prosecutor in the case involving the Yearning for Zion Ranch north of Eldorado.
On April 3 and 4, the state began removing more than 400 children who lived on the ranch with their parents, members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a breakaway Mormon group that embraces polygamy.
