From TwinCities.com:
Minnesota Senate Republicans are hitting the road to offer a different take on the just-concluded legislative session.
They’re driving around Minnesota with a warning that the budget deal reached over the weekend will pose serious problems for state government next year.
Senate Minority Leader David Senjem, R-Rochester, said the fix to a nearly $1 billion deficit relied too heavily on the state’s reserve fund and not enough on spending cuts.
He said it will leave Minnesota almost bare when it comes time to attack a budget problem next year that could be even worse.
Democratic leaders offered a more upbeat take on the session during a flyaround Monday. Gov. Tim Pawlenty also touted the session as one of the most productive in years during his wrap-up tour.
