From the Advocate:
State Attorney General Buddy Caldwell said he is getting “beat up” by the state over his budget, despite saving taxpayers at least $30 million this year.
Caldwell took office in January after defeating former Attorney General Charles Foti and a Republican candidate. Before that, Caldwell was a district attorney in three parishes in northeast Louisiana for nearly 30 years.
“Since I’m just a local DA, not used to having anyone messing with my budget, I’ve been beat up learning this Baton Rouge way of things” Caldwell told reporters at the Press Club of Baton Rouge Monday.
