Second, you can see where the Bible toting Democrat Governor “Rev” Strickland vetoed a provision of a bill that in many pro-life circles will be viewed as going against their efforts to protect life. From the Post Dispatch:

For more than a month, Strickland has expressed opposition to Senate Republicans’ plan to spend $200 million of state reserve funds for local highway and bridge projects. The money replaced $200 million that Strickland and Ohio legislative leaders initially agreed to take from the Ohio Turnpike.

“The governor has expressed serious concerns about setting a precedent of using the rainy-day fund for new expenditures,” spokesman Keith Dailey said.

Strickland left in the requirement that the $200 million be spent, but he eliminated the transfer date of July 1. Dailey said the money, under the original plan, was not to be spent until next year, so this gives Strickland about a year to work with legislative leaders to find another source for the money.
