Ohio AG Race will be a Doozy

Expect the Dems to come out swinging at Mike Crites because they know his story will be much more compelling to voters in Ohio than that of his opponent.  This former prosecutor is truly the Democrats nightmare candidate against a guy like Richard Cordray.  Mike Crites’s record of public service is long and selfless – he’s is one of those candidates who comes along ever so rarely in this day and age.  He has the experience and credibility to serve the people of Ohio from day one – and he comes with no political baggage or strings attached. From CantonRep.com:

COLUMBUS The attorney general card for the November election appears to be complete.

Ohio Republicans named their candidate last week, and that brings to three the number vying for the unexpired term of ousted and disgraced Marc Dann. All three are from central Ohio, and only one has any kind of statewide name recognition.

The attorney general candidates are:

• Robert Owens, a Republican running as an independent. He has a law practice in the city of Delaware.

• Richard Cordray, current Democratic state treasurer who was elected in the party’s near sweep of statewide offices in 2006. He lives in Franklin County.

• D. Michael Crites, from Powell in Delaware County. The Republican candidate has been in private practice for 15 years, after spending 21 years as a prosecutor, including as a U.S. attorney.

Few people give Owens a chance, so the focus of the race will be on Cordray and Crites. At the moment, Cordray is ahead in name recognition and money. He has a solid base in Franklin County and has been one of the most visible and well-traveled treasurers in recent memory.

    Great call on the race!
Fortunately, neither Cordray nor Crites are on the right side of gun control or small business regulation for Ohioans.
Along with Taft, Petro and the Ohio GOP, Cordray is one of the top recipients of dirty money from Coingate with Tom Noe.
Crites has a long record of being on the wrong side of private property rights, after spending years doing forced annexation and eminent domain abuse.
From where I sit, neither of these guys will be acceptable to Ohioans if there record gets out.
If we want a change, its up to Owens to get name recognition.
