Half Hour after meeting over Pit Bulls, Door Knocking Ohio Democrat Attacked by Homeowners Dog

What a world class conundrum for this Democrat state rep from Ohio.  Do you think if this wasn’t an election year he’d be bringing in his lawyer for a little pain and suffering discussion?  From the Morning Journal:

State Rep. Matt Lundy may think twice about knocking on a stranger’s door after being bitten by a dog last Thursday while canvassing in Sheffield Village.

Lundy, D-Elyria, was bitten twice on the right leg, once on the left leg and once on the lower back while visiting homes on Middlebury Court to tell voters about a town hall meeting he was having that night in Sheffield Village.

It all happened fast, Lundy said.

”The dog came flying out,” of the front door of the house, Lundy said. ”It was like a race horse coming out of the gate.” The dog was a Labrador-German shepherd mix, he said.

A man working next door came to Lundy’s rescue, according to a police report. The man, David Suarez, yelled at the dog and got it to stop attacking and run back into the residence, the report said.

Lundy, who said the dog ripped out the seat of his pants, drove himself to the Avon Emergency Care Center for emergency medical attention. Although bruised and bleeding, he required no stitches and was given a tetanus shot, he said. On Saturday, the wounds were examined again and found to be healing well, he said.

Sheffield Village police Sgt. Daren Ketchum said no charges were filed against the dog’s owner.
