Couldn’t help but think of Julia Roberts flicking that escargot
across the room at the fancy French restaurant in Pretty Woman after watching
Oregon Democrat State Representative David Edwards, D-Hillsboro dance around
the issue of whether or not he’d raise taxes to fund additional state
troopers in Oregon.  Edwards apparently said earlier that “We need
to find new revenue to fund additional troopers.” When asked if he
supported a tax increase to support additional troopers he found many new and
inspiring ways to avoid answering the question directly – numerous times. 
Truly, if this is the kind of vision and straight talk coming from Oregon Democrats,
2008 might not be such a bad year for Oregon Republicans after all.  Oh –
the vision you get to see here.  Oh – and after being pressed for an
actual answer – the gentleman declines.  Slippery little suckers
