From the Great Falls Tribune:
Democratic legislative nominee Kristina Davis has withdrawn from her race in southwestern Great Falls’ House District 18, citing a potential conflict with her new job as state director of the Children’s Defense Fund.
Davis withdrew her candidacy against Republican incumbent Jesse O’Hara on Monday in letters to local and state election officials.
The Cascade County Democratic Central Committee will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. to select a replacement for Davis, party chairwoman Nancy Anderson said. The meeting will be in the campaign office at 319 1st Ave. N. that the county party shares with U.S. Sen. Max Baucus.
Anderson said several people have expressed possible interest in running in HD18, but she’s not sure how many actually will step forward. If there’s more than one candidate, the winner will be determined by a vote of county Democratic Party officers and precinct people, after nominations and speeches by candidates, she said.
