Oklahoma State Senate Dems know they’re on the ropes, and now it’s say and do anything to even stay tied in the Oklahoma State Senate. Oklahoma State Senate Republicans are on the move, and will be the new majority after November 4th. From NewsOK.com:
Eye of the beholder
Diane Drum, who’s running for state Senate in District 15, has this to say about life at the Capitol: “Lobbyists and special interests have too much power, and partisan politics get in the way of finding common-sense solutions to our problem.” Drum apparently has no problem, though, with special interests that believe she’s just swell. The trial bar is one of those. Drum, an attorney, has received oodles of cash from colleagues who want desperately to see Democrats regain the majority in the Senate in order to ensure that future lawsuit reform efforts get jettisoned. In the past three quarterly campaign finance reporting periods, Drum received $74,485 in individual donations. Seventy-five percent of those came from attorneys.
