How great it’ll be for Missouri voters to have a return of strengthened integrity and transparency to their home state’s A.G.s office. Mike Gibbons is a candidate all Missourians can be proud of – a candidate who won’t bend the rules to fit his own agenda. It seems like the last year is littered with too many former Democrat Attorneys General who bent the rules, and the law to fit their own needs. From Hannibal.net:
Mike Gibbons is still not 100 percent certain who his November opponent will be in the race for state attorney general. That is not preventing Gibbons from hitting the campaign trail.
“We think we know who the candidate is going to be on the Democratic side, but we’re not sure,” said Gibbons, referring to the recount requested by Margaret Donnelly, who lost to Chris Koster by less than 800 votes in the Aug. 5 Democrat primary election.
Gibbons, who met with local Republicans at Logue’s Restaurant in Hannibal Monday morning, is more focused on his campaign than what is happening in the Democratic camp.
“We’re just going to keep charging ahead and continue doing the things we have been,” he said. “Since the end of the legislative session we’ve been going all around Missouri, doing things like this, meeting with people and going to events.”
