Republican A.G. nominee Bob Crumley wants to serve the people of North Carolina as the state’s top cop. From the Sanford Herald:
Bob Crumley’s career path doesn’t look much like the average candidate for North Carolina attorney general — his only political experience is as a county manager, and his law practice boasts 140 employees across North Carolina and South Carolina.
But Crumley, the Republican nominee for the office, said Monday on a campaign trip to Sanford that his outsider perspective is just what the office needs. “We need an attorney general who isn’t more interested in being governor one day,” Crumley said. “I’m very concerned about abuse of the attorney general’s office as a political steppingstone.”
Crumley said that if elected, he’ll fix problems at the State Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab, which has a significant evidence backlog, and “declare war” on street gangs which are becoming an increasing problem statewide.
