Ohio Democrat Attorney General Mark Dann apparently let his anger and
the eager anticipation of hobnobbing with Illinois U.S. Senator Barack Obama
get the better of him when he lashed out at a local reporter
(there’s video!) over an article that was written about Dann’s daughter last
week.
Dann surprised many observers in November ’06 when he defeated
former Ohio Attorney General and State Auditor Betty Montgomery. In some
circles it was heard that Dann was as surprised as many of the more seasoned
political observers by his upset victory. He’s had lots of time to
get used to being in the spotlight, and to learn there are just sometimes you
should just hold back your true feelings (maybe he should take some cues from
his friend Senator Obama), and to make sound judgments – but this episode

even video we said!) and some others show that the Democrat A.G. just hasn’t
quite gelled into that mature office holder that voters hoped he would.
Here are some of the latest headlines generated by the Dann machine
that conjure up maturity, ready for primetime, and sound judgment:

Attorney General Marc Dann curses reporter outside Obama even
Dann Fires Aide Who Killed Man in ‘75
Dann’s Evidence Handler Led Shoddy Township Operation
Attorney General Fires His Top Cop

anti-corruption platform.

McKay” in the political campaign classic
The Candidate.
But I think that the end is of the movie is where Marc Dann really could’ve
identified with Redford’s character – after they win and Redford’s
“McKay” looks at one the campaign staffers and says, with a great
deer in the headlights look, “now what?”
Ah – those Dann folks were going to clean up Ohio…
[…] we bet if you queried folks in Ohio they would tell you that Dann never expected to win this office – and was a little panicked when he pulled it off on Election Day. Second, this is the […]
