A statewide re-count following last month’s Democratic attorney general primary expanded the victory margin of winner Chris Koster.
The secretary of state’s office announced Thursday that the official results from the Aug. 5 primary show Koster adding another 49 votes to claim victory by 829 ballots. State law permits a losing candidate from requesting a re-count when the margin is less than 1 percentage point.
