From WNCT.com:
For the first time in history, our state is putting its price gouging law to use.
Attorney General Roy Cooper says Hurricane Ike triggered the law to go into effect, because of an “abnormal disruption in the market.”
So the state is investigating whether gas stations or distributors sold gas at unreasonably higher prices.
The state isn’t messing around and consumers aren’t messing around either. They are calling with their complaints.
Since Friday the state’s consumer protection division has been taking complaints that gas stations are selling gasoline at inflated prices.
