From The News-Times:
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is warning cell phone companies to protect the identity of their clients and not sell the numbers to telemarketers.
Blumenthal and state Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. on Monday said that both their offices will accept consumer complaints about unwanted marketing calls.
They also urged cell phone owners to register on the national Do Not Call list and Blumenthal noted that Congress in February permanently extended the coverage of the original no-call list, which is now five years old.
“Certainly anyone with a cell phone should register their cell phone number because they are the new frontier for telemarketers and unsolicited callers,” Blumenthal said Monday.
