OK Senate: One more seat and it's theirs!

The Oklahoma State Senate is evenly divided at 24 Republicans and 24
Democrats.  Republicans picked up seats in November to tie things up in
the State Senate – a trend that bodes well for Republicans gaining full
control of the State Senate in November ’08 – barring any unforeseen
open seats and special election victories between now and then. House
Republicans captured the majority for the first time since 1921 in 2004.  Republican
Senate Co-President Pro-Tem
Glen Coffee will be the first
Republican ever to preside
over the State Senate as a result of a power
sharing agreement hammered out between Senator Coffee
and his Democrat counterpart.

Things continue to move as they have in the past several years, the
Oklahoma legislature will under firm GOP control after the 2008
elections.
