…and the ’08 elections are under way. Oregon House
Republicans are hungry to get the majority back, and nothing is more serious
for them than standing up for all of Oregon’s taxpaying families and
individuals. It seems that they’ve figured out the only way to do
that is to get back in power in November of ’08.

SALEM, Ore.
Those wanting a sneak peek at the
GOP's playbook for winning back the Oregon House in 2008 should look no further
than the just-concluded legislative session.
Though they were in the minority in
both the House and the Senate for the first time in 16 years, Republicans held
the line on taxes, turning back efforts to raise the cigarette tax, the beer
tax and the minimum tax paid by corporations, not to mention large-scale tax
reform.
Their plan is to fly that "no
new taxes" flag high over the next 18 months, and remind voters constantly
that their Democratic colleagues were behind each of those failed efforts….
An all-out battle for control of the Oregon House is already under way, with
the House Republican caucus having spent about $70,000 on attack mailers,
automated phone calls and radio ads.
Every House swing district, and some
marginal ones, should be hotly contested, from West Linn and Hillsboro in the
Portland suburbs to The Dalles in Wasco County…. Get the rest of this
article here.
But wait – there’s more. Oregon House Democrats have
done their level best to avoid saying anything, which often times can result in
not doing anything. Thought you’d like a little refresher here and here of what those
slippery little suckers have been up to this past legislative session.
