From The Columbus Dispatch:
Once again the Ohio State Bar Association is compelled to speak out. A candidate for statewide office, an attorney himself, is denigrating an opponent, a fellow attorney, for doing his sworn duty as an officer of the court. This sort of attack is unacceptable.
Ohio attorney general candidates Richard Cordray and Mike Crites participated in a televised debate on Tuesday. During the debate, Cordray criticized Crites for representing a state employee who pleaded guilty in 2000 to embezzling $10,000 in public money. Cordray’s statement suggested that Crites did something wrong by representing his client. Nothing could be further from the truth.
