Please read the soundoff comments in the PI article for great information on ham handed Johns antics here in Pierce politics.

Pierce County has been for sale to the highest bidder for a long time, sending John L into state politics would just let the rest of Washington find out how easily and cheaply we can be sold. I keep asking the TNT why we can’t get our news here locally instead of having to depend on other news sources. They say their not for sale but as more articles and exposures are found elsewhere our faith is minimal. An explanation for this could be as described by a post ( see below) I received earlier. Guess between the Takohman and Life in Pierce County, local readers will have to depend on these two sites to get any real information.

“The McClatchy Company owns The News Tribune, The Olympian, The Bellingham Herald, and the Tri-City Herald. It also owns 49.5 percent of the voting common stock and 70.6 percent of the nonvoting common stock of The Seattle Times Co., which publishes The Seattle Times newspaper (and seven affiliated newspapers in Washington state and in Maine).

Under a joint operating agreement, The Seattle Times Company manages the advertising, production, circulation and marketing for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, a daily newspaper owned by the Hearst Corp. with separate news and editorial departments.

This is why the Seattle P.I. publishes articles on our envirnment, our government, and our issues which the TNT will NOT cover.

Here’s one of these articles: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/384974_trash25.html – and be sure to read the SoundOff comments!
