PA: Battle For House Sets Stage for Governor’s Last Two Years

Really, who knew that victory for the Democrats in Pennsylvania in 2006 would lead so quickly to victory for Republicans in 2008?  From PennLive.com:

But his political fitness to press for policies such as greater access to health care for the uninsured and more spending on public schools in the last two years of his term could be seriously affected by the battle for control of the state House of Representatives.

Voters will decide Tuesday if the Democrats can maintain or expand their razor-thin majority in the 203-seat House, or if Republicans can win it back.

Democrats hold a 102-101 edge, and all the seats are up for election. Republicans are hoping to weather a potential Barack Obama storm at the top of the ticket and keep the chamber within striking distance, if not flip it.

Few are more interested in the outcome than Rendell, who has invested heavily in battleground races this year.
