From the Charleston Daily Mail:
The chairman of the state Republican Party called it one of the bright spots in this year’s election that Democrats were unsuccessful in a last-minute attempt to oust seven GOP legislators, calling them “The Magnificent Seven.”
Dr. Doug McKinney of Bridgeport was celebrating today that those seven deeply challenged lawmakers would remain to keep Republican ideals strong in the state Legislature.
A week before the election, state Democratic Chairman Nick Casey called for voters to turn their backs on Tom Azinger, R-Wood; Craig Blair, R-Berkeley; Mitch Carmichael, R-Jackson; Carol Miller, R-Cabell; Tom Porter, R-Mercer; Patti Schoen, R-Putnam and Kelli Sobonya, R-Cabell.
