From Atlanta Business Chronicle:
Georgia House Republicans Monday re-nominated Rep. Glenn Richardson to serve a third term as speaker.
Richardson, R-Hiram, survived a rare challenge within the Republican Party from Rep. David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge. The GOP caucus did not release numbers in Monday’s vote, which was conducted by secret ballot.
Richardson became Georgia’s first Republican speaker since Reconstruction when the GOP captured control of the House four years ago.
