From the DesMoinesRegister.com:
Iowa Senate Republicans on Tuesday selected Paul McKinley of Chariton as their new leader, replacing Ron Wieck.
The share of Republican seats in the 50-member Iowa Senate has slipped each election since 2000. The party dropped two seats to 18 in this month’s election. It held 30 seats after the 2000 election.
“We are going to rebuild this party from the ground up,” McKinley said.
