From the York Daily Record:
Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati will be sworn in this morning as lieutenant governor to replace the late-Catherine Baker Knoll.
Knoll died last month after a battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Scarnati, a Jefferson County Republican, will play a dual role in state government, because he will keep his post as the top-ranking senator. He will earn the lieutenant governor’s salary of roughly $147,000, which is the higher of the two.
