From the Tulsa World:
Oklahoma might have put Democrats in the state’s two top offices, but on Wednesday, a Republican was in charge.
Senate Pro Tem-designate Glenn Coffee, R-Oklahoma City, was running the state because both Gov. Brad Henry and Lt. Gov. Jari Askins were out of the state.
Coffee would not comment, but Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Gary Jones said: “I think it is great. I think we ought to make that a permanent deal. That is one of our goals for 2010. I knew we were moving ahead faster than the Democrats. Maybe we got there quicker than we thought.”
