He’s out for run. 114 state house members vote to impeach. 1 votes present – another great profile in courage no doubt – and one votes against impeachment. Makes the 2009 Christmas card list much easier to mail next year we guess. From CBS2Chicago:
Blagojevich refused to answer any specific questions about the 114-1 vote by which the House impeached him Friday.
But he said: “Let me simply say I feel like the old Alan Sillitoe short story ‘The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner.’ … And that’s what this is by the way, a long-distance run.”
The one lawmaker voting against impeachment was Rep. Milton Patterson, a Chicago Demorcrat who represents the South Side. Rep Elga Jefferies, also a Chicago Democrat, voted present.
