From Northwest Herald:
Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn is in a bit of a tricky spot, getting ready to take over a job currently held by someone on the verge of getting fired.
With the seemingly imminent departure of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the 60-year-old Quinn stands poised to become Illinois’ new chief executive as soon as today.
Quinn believes his educational and professional background, including an economics degree from Georgetown University and experience as state treasurer and lieutenant governor, makes him well-suited for the challenges ahead.
