From the Quad-City Times:
The state’s labor unions pitched in heavily to the campaign coffers of legislative leaders in 2008, a year that saw some of labor’s top initiatives on the agenda.
The Iowa State Education Association, which represents teachers and school employees, was a big donor to leaders, with its political action committee writing checks as large as $25,000 or $50,000.
In total, the group’s PAC gave $370,000 to legislative candidates in 2008, according to reports compiled in a state database.
