Wow. From Tuscaloosa News:
A bill introduced in the Alabama House of Representatives this week would require convicted sex offenders who targeted young children to be surgically castrated before leaving prison.
The bill would require castration for male sex offenders older than 21 convicted of a sex crime against a victim younger than 12.
Rep. Steve Hurst, D-Munford, has pushed legislation authorizing castration for two years.

All I have to say is It’s about time!! People who miss treat children in any way shape or form deserve to have the punishment fit the crime. I speak from personal experience when I say that even after counseling, having that trauma stays with you. It effects every aspect of your life. These people don’t care how this effects their victims, just their own gratification. Maybe this bill could save another child from this horrendous atrocity.
I hear this type of punishment for crimes has been working very well for hundreds of years in the middle east to deter crime. I hope it’s taken to the next level with animal cruelty as well. We need stiffer punishment in this nation for thoughtless cruel acts albeit on humans or animals. Think of the money taxpayers would save by the government not having to build more prisons. Locking a person up in jail and providing them room, board, hot meals and cable tv doesn’t seem to be working does it?
