Virginia, Have an Idea for the Stimulus?

So let’s get this straight – the Democrat Governor of Virginia/Chairman of the Democrat National Committee holds a press conference unveiling a website that solicits input from citizens about how to spend government stimulus dollars that MAY flow in to the state?  Yet, as he solicits input he has no idea what restrictions (strings) will be attached to said stimulus dollars?

Which hat exactly is Virginia’s Tim Kaine wearing here?  Is he wearing that of the deliberative public servant whose primary interest is the well being of his state, or is he wearing the hat of the public opinion swaying DNC Chair trying to stir voters into false action by giving them a sense of ownership in a stimulus plan that is painfully lacking in any detail?  Are national Democrats playing politics at this crucial phase of America’s economy?  Is this how he’s always governed the Commonwealth of Virginia – by whim and lack of fact?  It appears that Democrats in Virginia, and other states, are playing with citizens emotions here…and that’s never a good thing to do during a crisis.  From Hampton Roads:

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine asked Virginians Tuesday to offer suggestions about how the state should spend its share of the $800-plus billion federal economic stimulus package.

Later in the day, residents with a different perspective on government spending rallied at the state Capitol to voice opposition to the package.

At a morning news conference, Kaine announced the launch of a Web site, http://stimulus.virginia.gov, that will enable individuals to offer opinions about how Virginia should spend its stimulus dollars and track where the money goes.

Virginia’s Crystal Clear Conservative has a thing two to say about Kaine’s effort.

The smart thing to do is: DON’T TAKE THE FEDERAL (MY MONEY) MONEY !!!!!!!!!!! Start triming state spending. That is what I do with my budget when I don’t have money. We could do without a bike path or two. Didn’t your Mother teach you , you don’t get everything you want all at once. You work, save and plan.
