While there’s still lots that needs to happen before Ted Cruz can become a full fledged candidate, you can check out his Facebook page right now, and his exploratory campaign page too. From Texas Politics:
Former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz has launched a new Web site dedicated to running for attorney general as a Republican next year. Cruz created a campaign committee in January.
“We need a new generation of leaders committed to making a difference, not simply staying in office. We need to inspire young people and old people and all people that America has always been and must continue to be a ‘shining city on a hill, a land of hope and opportunity built upon rule of law.”
As a top aide to Attorney General Greg Abbott for five years, it is unlikely Cruz would actually run unless Abbott carries through with speculated plans to run for either lieutenant governor or the U.S. Senate in 2010. But that rests on what Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison decide to do.
